BETTER FUEL MILEAGE – The Dobeck Performance AFR+ Auto-Tune System Gen 4 pays for itself! SAVING YOU $$$
The information the AFR gauge displays is all you need to get the best fuel mileage out of your vehicle. The AFR+ can be used alone or in combination with your existing fuel controller or mapping software. With a low retail cost, the AFR+ can pay for itself in ONLY 3500 miles.
BETTER HORSEPOWER and TORQUE
The Dobeck Performance AFR+ Auto-Tune System Gen 4 allows your vehicle to be optimized to get the best horsepower and torque for the current modifications.
FUEL INJECTION CONTROL – AUTO-TUNE or FUEL TRIMMING
The Dobeck Performance AFR+ Auto-Tune System Gen 4 has built in a piggy-back EFI control system. A piggy-back EFI control system is one where it does not replace the stock ECU, but rather monitors the signals to the injectors and makes fuel adjustments based on the mode settings. The Dobeck Performance AFR+ Auto-Tune System Gen 4 can be computer programmed into an auto-tune or a fuel trimming operation mode. The auto-tune mode instantly makes adjustments to the fuel curve based on the wideband O2 sensor input to match the user’s desired AFR value. The fuel trimming mode allows a user to make instant changes to the duration of time the fuel injectors are fired. The AFR+ features a push button interface on the gauge allowing for quick fine tuning by the end user for each operation mode.
AFR GAUGE
The AFR gauge provides the user an analog view of air/fuel ratio values between 10 and 16. The AFR gauge is the standard size of 2-1/16 inches in diameter to allow for multiple 3rd party mounting systems to be used. A self-adjusting back lighting display allows the AFR values to clearly be visible for both daytime and nightime riding.
WIDEBAND CONTROLLER – BOSCH CHIP and O2 SENSOR
The wideband controller for the AFR+ uses a Bosch microcontroller for interpretating the data from the wideband Bosch O2 sensor. The AFR+ uses the Bosch O2 sensor part number 17018 and can be found at most local NAPA stores.

COMPLIMENTS ALL FUELING SOLUTIONS
The AFR+ can handle ALL your fueling needs or COMPLIMENT ECU downloads or already installed EFI controllers. The AFR gauge allows you to KNOW exactly how well your tune-up is performing. The EFI fueling allows you to CONTROL any necessary fine tuning without spending more money or valuable time. -
FULL ON-THE-FLY TUNING
The AFR+ offers ‘on-the-fly’ adjustment using three push buttons on the gauge. With power supplied to the unit by either starting the vehicle or just turning the key on, the adjustment modes are accessed by pressing the MODE button. Setting changes are then made for each respective mode by pressing the LEFT (<–) and RIGHT (–>) buttons. No extra tools are required to make tuning adjustments. Any changes made to the mode settings are instantaneously applied even if you are out riding. -
FULLY PROGRAMMABLE
The AFR+ is programmable using an IrDA adapter. Setups are developed through an online tuning environment called POWERLAB. The AFR+ can be changed to be an add-on fuel trimmer or a complete EFI controller which can run in auto-tune mode. -
NO DYNO REQUIRED
You do not have to be a professional mechanic or tuner and have access to a dynamometer in order to tune your vehicle with the AFR+. The AFR gauge allows you to KNOW exactly how well your tune-up is performing in real world riding situations. The unit breaks down a drive cycle into very understandable zones to make adjustments. Most units have the basic Idle/Cruise, Acceleration, and Full Throttle zones to adjust. Every rider can understand this terminology. The greatest advantage about tuning your vehicle yourself is your ride will be custom set up to your driving style. -
PLUG-N-PLAY INSTALLATION
All of the offered AFR+ units are plug-n-play installations meaning you do not have to hard wire in any of the electrical components. Most installations do require the welding in of an 18mm O2 bung into your exhaust pipe. Some installations can use the O2 bung already in their pipe and just change out the narrowband sensor with the wideband sensor. The wideband controller requires you to locate the OEM injector connections or a sub-harness connection on your vehicle. Most of the time this will only require you to remove a few components to gain access to these injector connections. A number of new applications will also require you to find the stock narrowband O2 connections on your vehicle if present. Power for the unit is gained through the injector connections and a black ground wire just needs to be attached to the negative terminal on the battery if present or by a metal screw onto the vehicle frame. After physically installing the controller in most cases you are all set to go on a test ride. -
USES UNIQUE LOAD BASED TECHNOLOGY
The controller uses Load Based Technology which sets it apart from most of the competition. Most EFI controllers use what is called ‘Alpha-N’ Tuning Technology. Alpha-N tuning is associated with just using Throttle Position (TPS) and RPM as the factors to make tuning adjustments. Load Based Technology differs by using Rate, TPS and RPM as the key factors for adjustment. Load Based tuning allows a user to tune their vehicle for every gear and for all riding conditions. Load can easily be explained by stating that riding up a hill puts more “load” on the vehicle than driving on a flat road, but yet the same TPS and RPM can be achieved in both circumstances. -
OFFERS FULL RANGE TUNABILITY
The EFI controller is sold as an Electronic Jet Kit. Like carburetor jet kits of the past the controller offers a range of adjustability to tune your vehicle. Instead of physical jets and needles the controller has this adjustability built into the unit and can quickly be adjusted while riding the vehicle. Essentially with all EFI vehicles software has replaced some hardware. The controller can be installed and set to actually allow the user to still run a stock configuration, but allows the user to ADD or PULL fuel within easy to understand tuning zones. -
DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH STOCK ECU OPERATION
This is a very common feature of all after market EFI controllers, but needs to be stated to reassure all end users. The controller does not trip any engine codes or affect the ECU operation in any way. -
1-YEAR WARRANTY
The AFR+ unit comes with a one (1) year warranty from date of purchase against original defects in materials and workmanship. Should the unit fail to perform then the manufacturer will repair or replace the unit to the original retail purchaser at no charge except for shipping charges back to the manufacturer. Proof of purchase may be required..
The controller also does NOT void any OEM vehicle warranty. A common mispractice of dealers is to tell customers certain products will void their newer vehicle’s warranty. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act protects consumers from this practice.
